The Desert Rose is one of the largest mansions at 10,000sqm and as such occupies a prime location along the beach facing directly out to the Red Sea. In order to maximise the available plots along the beach frontage we have limited the plot widths to around 180m.
This layout therefore allows for all the primary public spaces to be located along this frontage with views out to the sea. As the size of the mansion dictates that some of the rooms and public spaces will be located along the side boundaries, the beach facing spaces have been separated by open water courts on ground floor, ensuring views out to sea from the upper circulation zone as well.
Strong monolithic forms balanced with honest natural material and contrasting geometric patterns.
The golf clubhouse was designed to reflect a modern interpretation of a traditional dhow in full sail capturing the essence of Dubai's seafaring traditions and the majesty and simplicity of the lateen-rigged dhows as they sailed up and down the coastline of Dubai.
